Wise Pods is a new community-driven model designed to bring comic books directly to consumers while simultaneously uplifting Black-owned businesses and creating new opportunities within underserved communities. Instead of relying solely on traditional comic book stores and distribution channels, Wise Pods transforms everyday spaces—such as barbershops, salons, mom and pop bookstores, and cultural hubs—into accessible comic book locations and discovery points for readers of all ages.
At its core, Wise Pods is about building culture, visibility, and economic collaboration. The program creates a direct-to-consumer pipeline where independent comics, graphic novels, manga-inspired titles, and culturally driven stories can reach audiences where they already gather, connect while building community. By partnering with Black-owned businesses, Wise Pods not only expands the reach of indie creators but also provides local businesses with additional revenue opportunities, exclusive merchandise, increased foot traffic, and unique community engagement experiences.
“When pitching this idea to my dad, he immediately saw the vision and jumped on the opportunity to help bring it to life. Together, we connected with two local barbers in my hometown (Hazlehurst, MS), Tony and Tyrone, who welcomed us into their shops to establish our very first Wise Pods. They opened their doors to us, allowing display setups, inventory placement, and future collaborations that go beyond comics. We'll be offering free advertising opportunities and even incorporating their likenesses into upcoming stories and characters,” said Littles.

The initiative aims to redefine how comics are discovered and consumed, especially within communities that have historically been overlooked by mainstream distribution models. Through curated displays, rotating comic selections, creator spotlights, live events, signings, and QR-based digital integration, Wise Pods bridges the gap between storytelling, entrepreneurship, and community empowerment.
“Wise Pods isn’t just about selling comics. It’s about creating opportunities and reinvesting into the same communities that continue to support us. A percentage of the revenue generated through each Pod goes directly back into those businesses to help improve infrastructure, renovation efforts, and community outreach initiatives. We want these spaces to become cultural hubs where storytelling, entrepreneurship, and community empowerment all intersect,” said Littles.
Wise Pods is a movement centered around ownership, representation, and accessibility. It creates a space where creators, independent publishers, and local businesses can collectively thrive while introducing a new generation of readers to stories that reflect their voices, cultures, and experiences.
